State Assets

Reporting directly to the Undersecretary of the Ministry, the General Directorate of State Patrimony is responsible for the general administration of State patrimony assets and the coordination of public contracting under the terms established in the regulatory provisions, through the exercise of the following functions:

  • Managing state assets, including the construction, maintenance, renovation and repair of real estate assets.
  • The drafting of proposals and rules relating to public procurement, as well as of the reports and agreements to be submitted for consideration by the bodies of the Advisory Board on Administrative Procurement.
  • Classifying contractorsAbre nueva ventana and maintaining the Public Sector Contracts RegisterAbre nueva ventana and the Official Register of Bidders and State Classified CompaniesAbre nueva ventana.
  • Managing matters related to State equity investments and interests in commercial companies.
  • Coordinating the introduction of electronic procurement.

The following inter-ministerial collegiate bodies report to the Directorate General for State Assets:

  • The State Administrative Contracting Advisory Board.
  • The Procurement Committee for the centralised state procurement system.
